Are you ready to adopt a wild horse? Just follow these easy steps.
Providing a home for a wild horse or burro is a challenging and rewarding experience. For qualified individuals, this is a unique opportunity to care for, then own, a mustang or burro.
You will need to fill out an adoption application from the link below. Please read the adoption requirements before you submit an application to determine if your facility meets all BLM requirements. Include exact information about the length, width, and height of your corral and shelter, and the type of materials used in the construction. Applications cannot be approved until all construction or modifications are completed. Corrals must be 5 feet high for burros; yearlings and trained horses; and 6 feet high for untrained horses 2 years of age and older. Click here for a listing of regional BLM offices. Please send your adoption application to the office in your state.
Attend a Extreme Mustang Makeover event and bid on one of the trained mustangs at the event. All adult mustangs are eligible for adoption through public competitive bid at the conclusion of each Extreme Mustang Makeover event.
