How It Works

Pick-Up

Register to bring home a US Forest Service mustang for the 2025 EMM!

Pick-up locations:

  • December 6-7, 2024 in Glen Rose, Texas

  • December 13-15, 2024 in *Lebanon*, Tennessee​

Train

Riders and handlers have

6 months to train their wild horse for competition. 

 

Competition Divisions being offered:

  • Adult under-saddle​

  • Youth in-hand

  • Adult in-hand

Compete

​Preliminary classes include:

  • Handling & Conditioning

  • Trail course

  • Maneuvers (under-saddle only)

 

The top 10 from preliminary classes will move on to the Freestyle Finals!

EMM Mustang Pick-Up

Horses are being provided by the U.S. Forest Service from a variety of wild horse territories:

  • Devils Garden WHT (California)

  • Jarita Mesa WHT (New Mexico)

  • Jicarilla WHT (New Mexico)

  • North Hills JMA (Utah)

  • Moriah HA (Nevada)

  • Murder's Creek WHT (Oregon)

  • Triple B JMA (Nevada)

Trainers will draw to select their own horse in order.

The Spectacular will use the Pegasus App for entries, schedules, scoring, and more!
