Extreme Mustang Makeover Joins Legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – The Extreme Mustang Makeover (EMM) is moving from their September date to join up with the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) in 2020. The Mustang Heritage Foundation (MHF) is excited about the partnership and the future for the EMM event. The dates for the Extreme Mustang Makeover will be January 23-25, 2020.

For 11 years the Foundation has partnered with the FWSSR to produce the sell-out event, Mustang Magic. The opening of Dickie’s Arena provided an opportunity for the EMM to be featured in the historic Will Rogers Coliseum allowing MHF to bring both events to the FWSSR audience.

“The partial government shutdown earlier this year left us facing logistical and financial challenges around our historic September EMM event,” said Kali Sublett MHF Executive Director. “The rescheduling from September to January will allow us to make up for lost time in selecting and preparing quality animals for the competition. The FWSSR has been a great host to us and we are excited to grow the partnership.”

Although official details will be released at a later date, the Foundation is working on an exciting new format for the Mustang Magic event which will now take place in conjunction with the Extreme Mustang Makeover. Trainers and spectators can expect more details soon.

With more than 1.2 million guests, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo will provide tremendous opportunities to grow the Extreme Mustang Makeover’s traditional audience. The Stock Show’s diverse offerings attracts a demographically broad audience that will easily connect with the Mustang Heritage Foundation’s appealing mission and unique show formats.

“We’re excited about expanding the presence of Mustangs at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo by including Extreme Mustang Makeover,” said Horse Show Manager, Lauren Lovelace Murray. “We’re eager to build on the 11 years of success with Mustang Magic by including this awesome show to our spectator experience. ”

EMM exhibitors can still expect a $100,000 payout with cash and prizes. Adults will work with wild mares and geldings 3-6 years old that have been living in Bureau of Land Management (BLM) off-range corrals. Youth trainers will work with yearling and 2-year-old fillies and colts for the competition. Over the course of the three days, spectators will see the horse-and-rider duos compete in a variety of classes and, following the competition, will have the opportunity to bid on and purchase one for their own.

Interested trainers need to apply by July 1st. Spectators and adopters can follow our Facebook page for updates and ticket links. For more information and to stay up-to-date visit https://extrememustangmakeover.com/events/texas-2019/.
