Mustang Heritage Foundation returned to the Williamson County Fair & Rodeo for a second year as co-sponsor of the Patriot Pro Showdown along with Ride On Center for Kids (ROCK).
The Patriot Pro Showdown, held in Taylor, TX, during the Williamson County Fair & Rodeo, paired two veterans with one professional mustang trainer to compete in three events for their chance at being crowned champion. Veterans had to qualify for entry into the event by competing in a trail course earlier in the week.
Once qualified, six teams took to the arena, each consisting of two veterans and one professional mustang trainer, to complete 3 classes on a mustang trained by the team’s trainer. One veteran from each team was selected to complete an in-hand trail class, while the other veteran completed a trail class under saddle with the same horse. Then, the team’s trainer completed an original freestyle routine in front of the county fair crowd.
Scores from each of the three classes were then combined to give each of the teams their final score, the highest being crowned champion!
Congratulations to all of the competitors in this amazing event!
