YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS

The Mustang Heritage Foundation (MHF) Board of Trustees is proud to present six scholarship opportunities in honor of three former MHF Trustees and legendary mustang enthusiasts. These annual scholarships are available to young adults looking to enter the next phase of their education.

John Falen Youth Scholarship

John was a founding Board Member of the Mustang Heritage Foundation. He was inducted into the Nevada Cattlemen’s Association Cowboy 100,000 Mile Club and tirelessly served on the National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Council. John was a cattleman in every way.

In John's honor and to continue his life’s work, MHF offers two $1,000 scholarships annually to high school seniors or college freshman who have participated in a mustang event and are looking to further their education.

Randall Carr Youth Scholarship

Randall was inducted into the Western States Wild Horse and Burro Hall of Fame and was the proud owner of Carr’s Wild Horse and Burro Center. He was responsible for adopting out over 30,000 wild horses and burros and operated adoption centers in Texas, Ohio and Tennessee. Randall joined MHF as a founding board member and helped build the organization to continue his legacy of adopting out wild horses and burros.

In Randall's honor and to continue his life’s work, MHF offers two $1,000 scholarships annually to high school seniors or college freshman who have participated in a mustang event and are looking to further their education.

BF & Janet Yeates Youth Scholarship

“BF Yeates is a legend in Texas and the United States as an educator, judge, horseman, and builder of large programs for youth and adult horsemen,” said Doug Householder, Texas Cooperative Extension professor emeritus. BF was imperative in the creation of youth AQHA classes and building a junior association of AQHA, thus paving the pathway for thousands of young horsemen and women. BF was also a pioneer in clinics, short courses, and judging.

BF and his wife Janet were instrumental in the creation and building of MHF into what it is today. In their honor and to continue the development of young horsemen and women, MHF offers two $1,000 scholarships annually to high school seniors or college freshman who have participated in a mustang event and are looking to further their education.
