The BF & Janet Yeates Youth Scholarship
“BF Yeates is a legend in Texas and the United States as an educator, judge, horseman, and builder of large programs for youth and adult horsemen,” said Doug Householder, Texas Cooperative Extension professor emeritus. BF was imperative in the creation of youth AQHA classes and building a junior association of AQHA, thus paving the pathway for thousands of young horsemen and women. BF was also a pioneer in clinics, short courses, and judging. He and his wife Janet were instrumental in the creation and building of MHF into what it is today. In their honor and to continue the development of young horsemen and women, MHF offers two $1,000 scholarships annually to high school seniors or college freshman who have participated in a mustang event and are looking to further their education.
